About the YMCA of Glendale:

Serving Glendale for nearly a century, the Glendale Y has been an integral part of the community since opening its doors in 1922.  Located in a 65,000-square-foot, multi-building facility in the heart of the city (the original building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the second opened in 1978) and featuring two, full-sized, indoor pools, it is one of the largest YMCAs in the world, with one of the non-profit organization’s most full-service slate of programs to promote health, fitness, youth development and social responsibility.

The YMCA knows that we have the greatest influence when we come together for the common good. This non-profit, cause-driven charity involves members from the very young to retired seniors. The Y’s commitment to Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility is manifested through a variety of programs that provide people of all ages, ethnicities, lifestyles and income levels with the opportunity to become stronger in spirit, mind and body.

Glendale Y programs include nationally recognized, award-winning sports programs for youth (aquatics, gymnastics, martial arts, basketball, boxing, racquet ball and more); family, adult and senior fitness; classes in the arts (dance, music and more); group exercise programs (aerobics, pilates, zumba, etc.); community service programs such as Counselor in Training and Service Learning; summer, day-camp youth programs; residential summer camp at the Y’s historic, ocean-front Camp Fox on Catalina Island (opened in 1926); and affordable residential housing.
